Artist Reception and Gallery Opening (Thesis Exhibition.
A gallery opening of new works by Ren Adams, exploring the relationship between science, philosophy, and the emergence of being from non-being. A dash of Tao, Zen and physics. This exhibit also marks the completion of Adams' BFA thesis, via the University of New Mexico.
Works on paper feature a variety of printmaking techniques, including a blending of traditional and contemporary methods. Combinations of lithography, serigraphy, intaglio, monotype, image transfer, relief and collagraph unite to form mixed media originals. Many of the works are large scale, reminiscent of sacred Chinese scrolls, enlivened by an expressionist aesthetic.
