Talbot once again hosts a superb offering of 20th century regionalist and modernist art by names such as Maxine Albro, Emil Bisttram, Morris Blackburn, Howard Cook, Lucille Leggett, Janet Lippincott, Ila McAfee, Datus Myers, Arnold Rönnebeck, Ben Turner, Theo White, and Norman Yeckley. The winter collection also includes some fine examples of American Indian imagery from the early 19th century by Karl Bodmer, George Catlin and McKenney & Hall, as well as quality antique maps of New Mexico and the Southwest.

Location: Santa Fe Community College Visual Arts Gallery
Description: Santa Fe Community College’s Visual Arts Gallery presents a showcase exhibition by the School of Arts and Design’s sculpture faculty, students and alumni. Work from faculty artists, their students and program alumni will be on display in the gallery and exhibition areas in the School of Arts and Design. The public opening reception for the exhibit is on Thursday, February 9 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the gallery and runs through March 8, 2012.

Summary: White Sands National Monument Sunset Stroll
Location: White Sands National Monument
Description: Sunset strolls are a great way to end your day. Enjoy a leisurely one-hour ranger-guided walk through sand dunes and learn about the geology, plants, and animals of this unique area. Program starts at the sign along Dunes Drive about five miles from the visitor center. No charge for the program. A $3.00 per person (16 years and older) entrance fee does apply to enter the monument. Programs are offered daily.

Summary: The Decanates of Astrology - Mythology, Archetypes and the Constellations

Description: February 2 marks the first of nine consecutive Thursday evenings from 6:30-8:30pm when Christopher Gibson will host his new series on The Decanates of Astrology. Gibson will guide you on a personal journey through the mythologies of the constellations. If you bring along your date, place, and time of birth (according to an official Birth Certificate), you will also learn about aspects of your own personality, challenges and talents.
